La Loma is a full-service Mexican restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Denver on Broadway Street. It brings a more polished, slightly upscale vibe to traditional Mexican dining, blending vibrant flavors with a venue that feels more lounge than typical taqueria. The interior combines cozy booths with a classic cantina atmosphere, featuring stained glass accents and photos that nod to its longstanding local roots.

This spot feels well-suited for after-work gatherings or weekend dinners when the atmosphere buzzes with a mix of young professionals and locals who appreciate both the food and the setting. Happy hour here attracts a steady crowd, creating a lively but relaxed mood where people can linger over creative margaritas and a shared platter of fajitas or crisp mini chile rellenos.

When it comes to food, La Loma offers a solid range of Mexican staples with some standout items like their signature green chili served alongside dishes such as chicken fajitas, tequila shrimp, and flautas. The classic chips and salsa make a strong first impression, fresh and balanced to complement the meal ahead. For those who enjoy something sweet, the fried ice cream and churros provide a familiar but satisfying finish.

Visitors who have grown up in Colorado often note how La Loma captures that distinct green chili flavor that can be hard to find elsewhere, making it a comforting taste of home for locals and newcomers alike. Service tends to be attentive even during busy weekend nights, helping the dining experience feel welcoming and well-paced.

Overall, La Loma fits well into Denver’s downtown dining scene as a place to enjoy hearty, well-crafted Mexican dishes without the informal rush of quick-service spots. It’s particularly good for groups looking to share a few plates in a spacious yet intimate setting, while people watching from the back booths adds an additional layer of entertainment to the evening. Expect a balanced mix of friendly energy and flavor-driven meals best enjoyed during later afternoons or early evenings.

This place is also known as La Loma I believe. It definitely has a higher end Mexican vibe with a dining club feel of the decor. I loved our cozy and comfortable booth towards the back—great view for people watching. We went early during happy hour, which seemed popular as an after work meet up. I thought the margaritas were great but a bit weak. The food was fantastic and well presented. This was my second time and I’ll for sure be back.

Downtown Denver never disappoints and this Mexican place was BY FAR phenomenal! Still drooling over the food we ate. Outstanding service for being a busy Sat night. We got the shared fajita- fresh and flavorful toppings and juicy chicken. Salsa and guacamole top tier 10/10 recommend this restaurant when visiting Denver. We will be back soon

If you love green chile, this is the place to go. I grew up in Colorado, and sadly have missed the type of Mexican food I grew up with living in Illinois now. This place has delicious food. If you aren’t sure about green chile, they offer a sample (comes with a fresh tortilla).

The concierge at our hotel recommended this restaurant. Inside was really cute, service was awesome. The chips and salsa were SO good. The reason I gave it a four was the meat was a little dry (chicken and brisket) but other than that it was good.

Excellent all around. I miss the old location in the house by the stadium, but Savina's just justice to La Loma down to the original stained glass from the cantina and photos on the walls. I ordered chicken fajitas and a couple el Diablo Margaritas. I highly recommend both. Fried ice-cream is also excellent and slightly better than it used to be up on the hill.

Savina's Mexican Kitchen is a Downtown Denver delight. This is an upscale Mexican restaurant with all your traditional favorites that have been elevated a mile high. Our food came out fast! Hot and fresh. The service is friendly and professional and eager to help. The atmosphere is classy and sophisticated. It was a great visit to this amazing restaurant.

The food was delicious, although I must admit it’s hard to truly impress me with cuisine alone. What absolutely stood out, however, was the service—100%. Coming from the restaurant industry myself, I can confidently say this was top-tier hospitality. We were amazed by the atmosphere! The entire team works in perfect harmony, creating an unforgettable experience. From the very first moment, you feel right at home. Every request was heard, and every wish was thoughtfully fulfilled. This restaurant is a true gem—where exceptional service meets an inviting atmosphere.

I recently dined at Savina’s Mexican Kitchen in downtown Denver, and it was a fantastic experience! This place has that authentic, welcoming vibe with a nod to its long history (love the story of Grandma Savina’s recipes). Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable—he recommended the chicken fajitas, and wow, what a great call! The chicken was perfectly grilled, juicy, and bursting with flavor from the seasoning. The sizzling plate came loaded with tender strips of chicken, grilled peppers and onions, and all the classic fixings—fresh tortillas, guac, sour cream, and pico. It was absolutely delicious and hit the spot. What really stood out was the award-winning green chile from Savina’s (that famous Colorado-style green chili!). They drizzled it generously over everything, and it added such a rich, savory kick—mild heat with tons of flavor. It elevated the whole meal. We also enjoyed some solid drinks—the margaritas were well-balanced and refreshing, perfect for washing down the tasty food. The chile relleno I tried was good too—nice and cheesy with that crispy exterior. Overall, the food was consistently good, the service attentive, and the portions generous. If you’re craving authentic Mexican with standout green chile and killer fajitas, Savina’s is a must-visit in Denver. Highly recommend—I’ll definitely be back! To try more ????????
